DAUGHTER, YOUR FAITH HAS SAVED YOU

 This month as we celebrate Women's History Month, it is essential to look back at the women in the Bible who played significant roles in shaping history. Today I want to share with you the story of "The Bleeding Woman" and how Jesus saw and recognized her.

 The woman who bled for twelve years had suffered much pain and distress, both physically and emotionally. She had spent all her money on doctors but had not been cured. She had been marginalized from her community, considered unclean and untouchable. But one day, she heard about Jesus and believed that if she could just touch the hem of his garment, she would be healed. As she approached and touched Jesus' garment, he stopped and asked, "Who touched me?" His disciples were confused as there was a crowd and many were touching him, but Jesus knew that someone had touched him in faith. The woman came forward and told him everything, and Jesus responded with compassion and grace. He called her "daughter" and said, "Your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering" (Mark 5:34).
 It is important to acknowledge Jesus' words when he called her "daughter." In a patriarchal society where women were considered inferior, Jesus elevated her status by calling her "daughter." He acknowledged her humanity, her suffering, and her faith. He saw her as a beloved daughter of God, worthy of love and deserving of respect. The story of the woman teaches us that Jesus' love and compassion are not limited to a particular gender, race, or social class. He sees us all as equals, and his love knows no bounds. His recognition of the woman's faith and suffering reminds us that God sees and cares about our pain, and we can trust in his healing power.
 Today, women still face challenges and discrimination in many areas of life. But as we reflect on the bleeding woman, we can find hope and encouragement. We can remember that Jesus sees us, recognizes us, and loves us, no matter what we have been through or where we come from. We can draw strength from the woman's faith and courage, knowing that we too can approach Jesus with our needs and trust in his healing power. So, let us celebrate Women's History Month by acknowledging the women in the Bible who inspire us and remind us of Jesus' love and compassion. Let us stand together and continue to work toward gender equality and justice, knowing that Jesus is on our side, calling us "daughters" and embracing us with his love.
